The Law of Intellectual Property
D-8 International University offers this program at MA level which is mainly concerned with patents, copyrights, and trademarks, but it also covers issues related to false advertising laws, right of publicity for celebrity figures, and trade secrets in confidential business information. Accordingly, patent is concerned with the exclusive rights of inventors to their innovations; while copyright laws are related to theft of means of expression of authors and artists; and trademark laws are concerned with the brands and logos which help consumers to recognize product quality. This program is closely linked to Business Law program in dealing with intellectual property risks and assets of businesses.
