D-8 Member States Express Gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for Its Ongoing Support to the D-8 International University at the Cairo Summit
During the final session of the 11th D-8 Summit held in Cairo, the member states of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation formally expressed their profound appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its unwavering commitment to supporting the D-8 International University (D-8 IU). This recognition was conveyed in acknowledgment of Iran's pivotal role in advancing the university's mission to promote academic collaboration and foster international research across the D-8 countries.
The D-8 IU, based in Hamadan, has made significant strides in enhancing educational and scientific exchanges among the member states. Through various initiatives, such as the "International Bridge Initiative," the university has been at the forefront of facilitating knowledge transfer, creating platforms for dialogue, and nurturing partnerships that transcend national borders. Furthermore, the university has organized a series of impactful webinars and workshops, which have provided valuable opportunities for students, researchers, and professionals from D-8 countries to collaborate and share insights on pressing global challenges.
The D-8 member states commended the university's dedication to creating a robust academic network that not only strengthens the educational ties within the organization but also contributes to the broader goals of regional development and cooperation. In this regard, the member states emphasized the importance of continuing to support the university’s initiatives and called upon all D-8 countries to actively engage in and contribute to the university's programs, ensuring the sustainability and expansion of its educational and research activities.
Mr. Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, Secretary-General of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its continued support of the D-8 International University during his meeting with Dr. Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In his speech at the summit, Dr. Pezeshkian highlighted several key initiatives, emphasizing Iran's readiness to support collective efforts for young entrepreneurs within the D-8 framework. He proposed collaborative actions such as the establishment of a "D-8 Joint Idea and Capital Bank," the creation of "Joint Science and Technology Parks," the organization of "Scientific and Technological Tours and Meetings," as well as providing educational and research opportunities, scholarships, and exchanges of professors and students. Furthermore, he called for the facilitation of entrepreneurship opportunities for youth, investment in small and medium-sized enterprises to address youth employment challenges, and the organization of exhibitions showcasing knowledge-based products and achievements in cooperation with D-8 Member States.
This expression of gratitude highlights the shared commitment of D-8 member states to fostering deeper cooperation in the fields of education, research, and innovation, as well as their collective resolve to work together towards achieving sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
