Governor of Hamedan Visits D-8 International University, Emphasizes the Institution’s International Role in the Province’s Scientific Development
According to the Public Relations Office of D-8 International University, Hamid Malanouri-Shamsi, Governor of Hamedan, made an unannounced visit to D-8 International University and stressed the importance of expanding international scientific collaborations as well as advancing the university’s educational and research activities to a global standard.
During the visit, the governor expressed his appreciation for the university’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and research.
He described D-8 International University as one of the province’s most valuable higher education assets, noting:
"This university has the potential to serve as an influential scientific hub in the region, attracting international students from around the world and playing a key role in elevating Hamedan’s scientific standing."
Referring to Hamedan’s rich scientific and cultural heritage and its historical role in nurturing distinguished scholars and researchers, he added:
"Due to its international character and membership in the D-8 group of developing Islamic countries, D-8 International University can act as a center for the province’s scientific and cultural exchanges with other nations, with the potential to make Hamedan one of the major academic centers in the Islamic world."
The governor also highlighted ongoing plans to expand the university’s activities and organize joint meetings with representatives of the D-8 group. He noted that an active Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Hamedan could provide a valuable opportunity to strengthen the university’s international collaborations. As an educational institution affiliated with the Organization of the D-8 Developing Islamic Countries, D-8 International University is committed to enhancing scientific and educational cooperation among its member states, thereby contributing to scientific development and synergy across the Islamic world.
