Indonesia Flood Tragedy
Indonesia Flood Tragedy
Catastrophic floods and landslides have struck Indonesia's Aceh province and North Sumatra in recent days, with the death toll surpassing 900 and over 400 people still missing, according to the country's disaster management agency. Entire villages remain buried under mud and debris, with more than 260,000 residents displaced from their homes. Survivors face critical shortages of clean water, food, and medical supplies as damaged roads and collapsed infrastructure hamper relief efforts in the hardest-hit areas.
D-8 International University extends its deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and to all those affected by this tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Indonesia during this incredibly difficult time. We stand in solidarity with our fellow D-8 member nation and encourage the D-8 community to support humanitarian relief efforts through reputable aid organizations working to assist survivors and help rebuild affected communities.
