According to the Public Relations Office of D-8 International University, His Excellency Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited D-8 International University on Thursday, November 1, 2024, accompanied by the Provincial Governor and a number of senior provincial officials.

This meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, His Excellency Dr. Araghchi, the former Minister of Science, Research and Technology, His Excellency Prof. Gholami, the Chancellor of D-8 International University, His Excellency Prof. Sarikhani, and their accompanying delegations.

During the visit, Dr. Araghchi became acquainted with the university's capacities, achievements, and development programs. They toured various educational, research, and international departments of this academic institution and were briefed on the university's extensive activities in the field of scientific and technological cooperation among D-8 member countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, during the visit, emphasized the distinguished position of D-8 International University in enhancing the scientific and cultural interactions of the Islamic Republic of Iran with developing countries. They described the university as a rich capacity for scientific diplomacy and described its role in strengthening academic, technological, and innovative relations among countries as vital.

His Excellency Dr. Araghchi also, while appreciating the efforts of the university's management in developing international educational and research cooperation, stressed the necessity of expanding relations between the country's diplomatic apparatus and D-8 International University. They described the university as a valuable platform for implementing joint international projects and training specialized human resources in international fields.

D-8 International University, as the only university affiliated with the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), is mandated to enhance and coordinate the scientific capacities of the member states of the organization through scientific diplomacy approaches, to build a better future in all D-8 countries.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the accompanying delegation, while expressing satisfaction with the activities and developmental outlook of D-8 International University, emphasized their support for the scientific and international plans of this university in line with the overarching policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of scientific and technological diplomacy.
