Comparative Philosophy
D-8 International University offers Comparative Philosophy program at PhD level. Also called Cross-Cultural Philosophy, it is a subfield of philosophy where contexts of different cultures, languages, and philosophical schools are put into dialogue by philosophers with the aim of working on specific problems. The program sets to compare and contrast the foundations, perspectives, scopes and methods of various philosophical stands by bringing important schools of thought and philosophy together in order to investigate particular issues and dimensions of life. Students are expected to adopt a critical stance in investigating schools of thought and deeply inspect their structures in order to get a more thorough grasp of the human philosophy as a whole.
